How Can swollen And Painful Leg Be Treated?

My left leg has been extremely swollen and painful for about 5 days now. I ve been trying to keep it up and rest but it just keeps more swollen and painful. I ve also been getting really bad migraines along with having my swollen leg. The migraine pain has been different though it s all been on the right side and extremely sharp pain. I have regular migraines but haven t had them like these. I am also very tired and weak. I also have a cough.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

We have to rule out possible causes like cellulitis and DVT.

Consult a general surgeon and plan for a vascular Doppler.

As of now, keep your legs elevated using pillows for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
